There will be a free day-long excursion for delegates and accompanying persons on Thursday the 8th of April (lunch and snacks not included) which will highlight cultural and natural interests around Narrabri including wildlife in the Pilliga National Park, a cotton farm, Pilliga Pottery (lunch), Aboriginal drawings at the sandstone caves, and the Cuttabri Wine Shanty. The dinner will be held on Friday the 9th of April at Craigdon Guest House. It will include a “welcome to country” ceremony by representatives of the Gamilaroi people, a visit to Sawn Rocks, and finish with a disco. We also plan to go spot-lighting one night for nocturnal animals on Mt. Kaputar. | Excursions for accompanying persons: If there is enough interest, we will arrange for some short day trips for accompanying persons, which could include visits to the Australian Telescope, Mt. Kaputar National Park, Waa Gorge, Pilliga hot artesian bore and other cultural and natural attractions. If you may be accompanied by people who may be interested in attending such excursions, please contact Mary Whitehouse. |
